A call came in from one of the good guys in Melbourne’s Melton area.  Allan had a need for a metal detector hire service even after he used his neighbours metal detector to try over two days, and find his own lost wedding ring after gardening, pulling weeds and digging holes for plants, good effort mate. He pulled out a lot of iron junk but no gold ring thats what some detectors are only really good at iron.

Melton Metal detector Jewellery Rescue

A very good detectorist Paul  meet up with Allen with the right sort of gold finding gear that lives that side of Melbourne closest to the search site.  Allan said later he couldnt sleep properly while the ring was missing.  Paul searched in places Allan had allready search and some new places  he had not, we cover all possibilities we can some time where  no ring is expected to be..  Well If you know Paul I would have him like other Jewellery Rescue detectorists search for my lost gear any time as he is building experiance fast.  Needless to say Paul was successful in a couple of hours and found Allans Gold wedding ring where Allan had all but given up hope, Allan was one very happy man.  Well done Paul another success story to your credit where Allan needed the extra experiance and  gold seeking gear plus possible the experiance to use it effectivly.  Regards Tony JR

Mack was relaxing happily gardening, turning over his garden bed with fresh compost when he realised his gold wedding  ring must have fallen of  while he was  working the garden.  Thank fully he found our Australia wide Jewellery Rescue network and  called for our nearest metal detectorist to assist him locate his  ring.

Well in his area of Melbourne west of the CBD we have an accopmplished detectorist among many quality detectorist in Melbourne named  Paul.  Following is  Paul’s account of events introducing a thankful  Mack up with him.

Paul’s account of events:  Got the call this week for a JR job.
A fella named Mack lost his wedding band digging a compost heap and called JR to help find it.
Over the phone Mack told me that the compost was full of tacks and nails.  He wasn’t joking, the threshold on the e-trac completely nulled out from all the iron so I switched over to two tone ferrous mode. The e-trac’s recovery speed is pretty fast in TTF and the ring was quickly found in between some ferrous signals close to the garage wall.

Mack had a huge smile and eagerly shook my hand thanking me. Gotta love that feeling  ;D and the $ came in handy to purchase a new headlamp (H14 lenser) for some night time detecting.
Thanks Tony for setting everything up, had a great time finding and returning the ring.

Top  work to Paul another Jewellery Rescue find under the belt your money was well spend on buying some  more search gear.   Regards Tony and Paul.

Lost/Found after throwing dogs toy.

Hi Tony, I lost a ring (my mother’s engagement ring) last Sunday in my son’s backyard at a child’s birthday party. I was throwing a kong for the dog and I suspect I also flung the ring off my finger and didn’t notice it was missing right away. Luckily my son had mown the grass the day before, so won’t need to do it for a while. The house is situated on a 1 acre block. We are at the start of the Southern Highlands. Can you let me know if you are able to conduct a search for me. I have no idea of the monetary value of the ring but my mum was always very proud of it. Looking forward to hearing from you. Regards, Del , Bargo NSW 2574

Jewellery Rescue job by Tony, AS this email came through to my phone prompty I Called Del  after just finding another  couples ring  at Balmoral and arranged to meet her that late afternoon.  On arrival Del and family showed me the area the dog  chew toy kong was thrown, over about a half acre for about half an hour, she went in side and them realised it was missing. As the dogs drooled all over the kong as they do she stuck her ring finger in the kong hole as not to get slimed by dog dribble. As she through the kong the same way on her ring finger  eventually it worked loose and came off some time  with the kong toy. So the first place was to check the hollow kong, no not there I like making sure. Second place for fun mostly to add to their neighbour hood story I detected the dogs belly in case it swallowed it. No not there or their stools. Ok now for the inch by inch search where the ball was landing. The idea on a larger property is to grid in one direction then cross grid it to make sure we cover it. So with my flotilla of kids dogs and now two inquisitive hubbies watching and asking questions (which I encourage).  I was off and detecting down the slight slope towards the area the kong was being thrown from. Several passes across the yard found an old car badge crumpled  can. I reset the etrac to manual sensitivity 15 as the ground was messing with the auto tune. Put a test coin on the ground made sure response was as i expected. Ignoring many metal items under ground I kept going. 20 mins later night apon us, where the grass was quite short but still the ring still hid especially with that straw coloured grass bits. Well near a small tree raised I picked up a good gold signal with the classic etrac triple beep beeeep beep of a singal surface target. A quick detect with the pro pointer I could see the ring nestled in to the grass. The kids saw I was on to some thing and rushed over I  asked them to spot what i could see. I didnt take long they found it I told them to leave it there and sent them off to round up the adults. They went of yelling he found it he found it lol. Del’s son and family came out and I ask them to spot the ring too and further let them all listen to the etrac making is beeps over the ring. The Daughter inlaw of Del’s picked up the ring which looks great in bright led light , sparkling in the light looking as if it was glad to be found. In they went and called Del exurbertly on the phone. Del is a very nice woman and lost her mothers diamond ring but she was starting to wonder if she would see it again. Her family was unsure a metal detector guy was the way to go but Del wasnt one to be put off. Well ever one in that family are now believers .

Lady has her heart felt ring returned.

If I was to rate the job I would say 80% of getting the ring back as their is a bit of uncertainess about when it was lost. But most owners as a general rule do know where it subconsiously slipped off, but not every time and some are a little off target with location be prepared with secondard search areas, Well took a couple of photos a little blurry with the phone camera see best one below. I thank Del and her family for inviting me to their home and searching and for the additional reward for coming out some distance . To me the most important thing is the ring is found back with Del and Family.

Del’s Email post find: Hi Tony, I’m utterly amazed that you found my ring in super quick time. Thank you so much; I would recommend your services to anyone else who found themselves in the same predicament. My son’s family sounded very jubilant over the phone when they phoned me. Tomorrow when I pick up the ring from their house, I’ll photograph myself with the ring and send it to you to add to your collection. Ciao, Del

Snoopy on a jewellery rescue metal detector hire call out for a lost ring.  Young Lady 21 lost her gold and zirconia ring her boy friend gave her while in the back yard. It was slightly loose and it slipped off as rings some times do. She knew pretty much where she lost it but after a 24 hour hand and knee search by a mob of them the ring remained invisable in reasonably short grass especially if you have some winter yellow fleck grass leafs to help mask the ring. Well Snoopy was able to come out the same afternoon after work the job was calling in on which is important as people some times stress at a ring loss as the jewellery holds significance in there lifes even friendship rings. Best to see the video see link above. But the way it goes is Snoopy with in 10 minutes had the ring found and back it to her mums hands (as it was lost at her place) with in 10 minutes. A great result for Snoopy on his first successful JR job.

Watch us find her daughters ring on You tube click link below.

A young family from Canberra where ready to return home spending another last hour or two on Cronalla beach before heading inland again.  It was here where Max’s wife had her Small diamond  D letter shaped pendant fall of it’s chain in to the sand.  They knew to within one meter of where it fell but visually searching proved hopeless and they had to start travelling home soon that day.  I arranged to meet Max and his family ASAP on the beach in approximatly an hours time to recover their wayward  pendant for them. Once I meet the family and  they showed  me the small search  area  the quality metal detector made short work of finding small the 10mm tall D Pendant in the loose sand for them. A small item but deeply meaning full to the family. We where all happy they will  be taking it home with them not left unsearched for on the beach.

Chipping Norton metal detector hire finds stunning 36 Diamond pendant

It was 3pm - I arrived to metal detector hire search a 1.2km looped running track that Bianca jogs frequently.  The target was a beautiful 36 diamond 25 mm pendant that has a matching ring of equal distinctive qualities.   As it turned out, the emotional value of this ring far outweighed any dollar value countless times over.   A few days prior to my call from Bianca, she had discovered much to her dismay, the clasp of her strong pendant chain impossibly had opened snagged on her top, while jogging that day.  Her mother’s irreplaceable pendant was missing.  This isn’t just any pendant.  It was the one her mother gave to her and formed an emotional connection between them regardless of distance apart.  I heard how Bianca’s loving family diligently searched the path numerous times to try and recover it over several days as the path was frequented by many people on walks.  Bianca’s Husband wisely put up a few reward posters as many honest people still exist and look for clues as to the real owner.  I also added my own reward posters with my own phone number as I can shield people and lady owners from nuisance calls and preserve their privacy.   After Bianca and I surveyed the route she took around the jogging track in Chipping Norton, I started metal detecting as fast as I could go without missing items.  Many people frequented the path and hope of finding such a distinctive item was diminishing with time.  Night was falling, Bianca’s son stopped by to warn me that some drug users frequent the area at night.  I thanked him for his advice but stayed detecting and making sure the first leg of the path was completely search both sides before I left.  I informed Bianca via sms of a nil result.  I would have to return fresh the next day.  The following day was glorious and I started out in good spirits to finish off the 1.2km track, (both sides that are 2.2km of detecting).  I started where I left off the night before with the highest of level of focus I could muster a kilometre of search area to go.  I found over 250 metal junk items.  I detected no fewer than two swampy foot bridges until it was the 11th hour and I was on the last 50 metre leg of the path I could see the path end in sight yet  giving up wasn’t an option until last 1mm is searched.  Another signal,  like so many before but this time sitting on its edge, nearly invisible under a small sapling gum tree, a sight to behold when Bianca’s mother’s pendant flipped  face up into my hand sparkling brilliantly in the sun.  It was like holding a piece of the sun in my hand; I was so pleased it was found.  A weight lifted as I had fathomed its emotional importance to  Bianca, of whom I later found out, had been so worried and upset that she hadn’t eaten or slept properly since its loss which effects most people this way.  When I told her it was found over the phone she needed time to let her feelings to change from that of deep loss to restoration and beyond.  I gave the pendant to her son who was at home so he could reassure his mother it was indeed found and safe once more home where it belonged.  I was invited back later that day to a very warm smiling family.(Found  pendant on the  right hand side of  photo.)

Reunited jewellery

In Hindu tradition when people save people from ordeals and bring peace of mind, Bianca whole heartedly called Jewellery Rescue and “myself , a god for the day”.  Well this was a compliment which touched me – that my efforts were appreciated so.  I even today let that positive compliment amongst others  good will power my search efforts in the most toughest detecting conditions  to support new search efforts  near or far.  But reality remains constant I can’t always overcome all adversities and recover all people’s jewellery no matter how hard we want, will it or search.  We care at Jewellery Rescue on all of our metal detector hire jobs that much we can guarantee.  My thanks to Bianca and her family her hospitality, the generous  reward has enabled me to do my brand of positive good in the  elsewhere.

Townsville Metal detector hire saves two precious rings. Townsville park.

Gordon and his newly wed wife of 3 months where enjoying a romantic picnic in Townsville park. Gordon’s wife took her wedding and  diamond engagment rings off and  sat them besided  her on the rug to put on  more sun screen lotion. Metal detector hire She didn’t want to gunk up  her rings with oil – which is  quite normal. When it was time to leave, the picnic blanket was picked up and shaken out quite vigorously sending the rings flying.  Just then it dawned on her the rings where not back on her hand.  A frantic search followed with the diamond engagment ring being found quite  quickly, to  great relief  sitting on the grass  close to where the picnic rug was first picked up.  This must have fallen off before being flicked with the grass bits. It was  first  assumed the wedding ring fell of in the same spot  as the engagment ring but  a detailed hand and knee search failed to find her wedding band anywhere nearby.  They widened the search to the estimated rug flick  zone walking and looking as closly as  possible to no avail.  Day became night by now friends and family had joined the search  with no sign of the ring. The search called off for the  night husband Gordon explored an idea and searched  google for a  local metal detector hire place and came across www.jewelleryrescue.com.au Australia Wide. Our cost effective hire comes with a skilled operator with the know how to track down wayward jewellery if and where  possible.  Many people just hire machines with no training and soon learn it isn’t as easy as they first thought.  Often there is much metal  junk under the ground making things difficult. When emotionally stressed  it is near impossible.  I contacted one of two local Townsville  guys to assist Gordon and  his family in their search for the remaining  ring.  The  way the detectorist told me what happened was they search the spot the rug  was picked up - no joy. Then the second  area of 10m x 10m where the ring was thought to be flicked off the rug, this found bottle caps and ring pulls by the handful. (We must dig them up to make sure we dont miss the gold ring which sounds similar at times.)  It was then decided to extend that search range as the end of a blanket is almost moving at a speed of a whip and could really fire of a metal item like a ring.  Well sure enough about 14 meters away pretty much straight out the ring was found 1.3 hours later  basically just nestled into the grass making it harder to see to the  naked eye.  Gordon’s wife was esctatic as her hopes where fading with the search areas being extended out getting larger.  But  now she was hugging our detectorist almost forgetting she was married so I was told with hugs and kisses. Thankfully he was rewarded an additional $80 making the whole job $200 even.  The base fee covers expenses the reward  helps us buy new  equpiment periodically.  So another win for our customers and Townsville JR team. We care.

Dianne a bride to be didnt ever think she would need to hire Jewellery Rescue metal detector hire service to get married.  As it turns out she was  ready to leave the beach with her friends and stood up brushing the  sand from clothes when off came  her very nice  engagment ring. It was 14k  white gold, set with varing size diamonds to a peak visualy unique.  The sand  just  covered it up with out trace. Dianne said she  had at least 20 people sifting the sand with their hands to no avail for the ring after they saw her trying to  find it herself. She phoned her  brother who used the internet to find our company Jewellery Rescue.  I contacted Brian our local detectorist in the area who in this case was able to come  down to the beach straight away.  To  his credit he had found the ring in less the 60 seconds detecting time.  Also to
Dianna’s credit too as she marked the beach exactly where she lost the ring giving us a precise search area.  Dianna  also confessed in relief after  we recovered the ring she was very nervous to have to  tell her currently overseas fionce that she lost the ring he gave her. Well at least now she can tell him and have a positive outcome.   Other Guys and girls out there  please try to forgive each other for any lost rings out there it happens to both sexes all to often keeping in mind it dose take a bit of cooling off  when a hard earned $$$ ring is lost providing a detector hire dosnt recover it for you..

Wollongong Dapto Illawarra 3.6K Sapphire rescue.

It was 10.05am on a Tuesday morning I received a metal detector call from a referred customer for a metal detector hire job in Wollongong, Illawarra Dapto region..

Rescued 3.6K Sapphire

Rescued 3.6K Sapphire

This particular call was from a local farm. Hearing this my heart dropped, as many farm  jobs mean  covering a whole lot of ground reducing the chance of  recovery.. As it turned out Tracy took off her 3.6 karat sapphire ring to keep it clean while  rubbing some  cream on her child’s legs and arms after playing in some stinging plants. She placed the ring on the car parked on the grassy nature strip while using the first aid kit in the car. Ring forgotten now the stinging plant drama over, the car was moved  several meters away to mow the grass.  It wasn’t until later that night the ring was noticed missing and the search began. Shane  and his wife search hard and long into the night with the nagging fear the ride on lawn mower had shattered the huge near pure sapphire stone. The 18k gold ring /mounting was replaceable if it was mangled so they said..  Come morning the visual search continued.. Shane who had positive results using a metal detecting service before took charge of the situation and phoned for our Jewellery Rescue services.  At the time I quoted $120 due to the extra distance and time involved with my trip from Sydney.  A small extra price to pay given the princely value of the item.     Arriving about 11.40am meeting at their farm gate as arranged  Shane and  Tracy showed  me the search area where the car was parked. Firing up the detector on a clear sunny morning I started a grid pattern working my way down the hill towards the  infamous stinging plants. As pure luck would have it I was barely on the second sweep of the search pattern when the detector nearly jumped out of my hands the response was so pronounced to the found ring underneath the coil.  No mistaking that signal brushing aside a  tuft of grass was a huge sapphire ring totally undamaged  by the lawn mower as the weight of the  ring sat it low on to the ground out of the lawn mower blades way. I offered a discount on the job  as it was a quick search but ended with an insisted generous reward instead.  Thank you  both Shane and Tracy for your referrals and opportunity to find your  ring.

Finds a Gentlemans wedding ring. Detector hire Maroubra Beach

Posted: under Jewellery Rescue Australia, Sydney Rescue's.

It was 4.30 pm on Maroubra Beach after a detector hire near the Rubicks cube north end of the beach where I failed to help  find  Mr Lee’s car keys even after much searching and fruitless digging metal detector search.  I had a sheen of perspiration on my forehead from the last job and the bitter taste of failure even though I shouldn’t beat myself up as some jobs can be mission impossible before they start. Not that we are ever to know that before we start a search.   To take debatable positive action I took a beach found gold coin and threw it out to sea for luck.  Not that I am superstitious. Well it cant hurt right?  Unless you happen to be swimming  along and a coin hits you in the back of the head out of the blue. Just kidding – I was aiming out  to sea.  Then it was back to business once again. In my hand I had Mr Stephane’s excellent treasure map of where he and his family had visited the beach and  unintentionally lost his wedding band. The prefect treasure map was a satellite image of the beach copied  from google maps and pasted into a basic  Windows picture editor like  Paint (in windows xp) there was added red rectangles  precisely locating the search area to within 5 meters.

The perfect Treasure map
The perfect Treasure map

Marking the physical search area from the treasure map I began grid searching. Within 10 minutes searching I heard the familiar beep a cry for rescue from someone’s gold ring found precisely in the search area.  This ring wasn’t ”some one’s” as it had the names of Mr Stephane and his wife, name neatly engraved on the inside band. The outside of the ring had a lovely unique pattern, so interesting seeing all the  different  designs. After admiring the ring I zipped it into a secure pouch so it wouldn’t be dropped and lost again. Ring secured, I texted  Stephane the good news, but before I could put the phone in my pocket a well spoken gentlman called out my name from the nearby beach access path. Wonder how  he knew it was me? No doubt the metal detector in hand tipped him off. I asked him if  he read the text message I just sent? He said no, as I handed him his wedding band. “No way! you found it already?   Thank you, and my wife thanks you. I told him how I threw some coins in the ocean for luck and  luck was given.  As there were ominous signs beach sweeper tracks over this part of the beach as well.  Stephane gave me some great advice for my web site which I thank him for as well as the very generous reward for the swift safe return of his ring.  I don’t think you could meet a nicer person with a little old world charm in a young face.
