Allan  borrowed his neighbours el cheapo detector to his credit and tried to find it himself.

Paul find the Treasure again.

It wasn’t to long before Allan had to give up with the amount of false readings  indicated by the detector.  Allan new he needed a better machine and called  Jewellery Rescue to hire machine and experienced detectorist as he knew it was the best way to  get his ring back,  smart man.  Paul arrived at  Allan’s home and yard and started detecting  where Allan had mulched and planted plants  all the places Allan started  checking.  2 hours later Paul’s experience kicked in and started  searching  the lawn  near where Alan had being working and with in minutes had found and returned  Allan’s wedding ring to him much to Allans relief.   He was more stressed than he was letting on he later admitted to us.  Dont  worry Allan we  know you where feeling the pinch just  glad we could  help.

A call came in from one of the good guys in Melbourne’s Melton area.  Allan had a need for a metal detector hire service even after he used his neighbours metal detector to try over two days, and find his own lost wedding ring after gardening, pulling weeds and digging holes for plants, good effort mate. He pulled out a lot of iron junk but no gold ring thats what some detectors are only really good at iron.

Melton Metal detector Jewellery Rescue

A very good detectorist Paul  meet up with Allen with the right sort of gold finding gear that lives that side of Melbourne closest to the search site.  Allan said later he couldnt sleep properly while the ring was missing.  Paul searched in places Allan had allready search and some new places  he had not, we cover all possibilities we can some time where  no ring is expected to be..  Well If you know Paul I would have him like other Jewellery Rescue detectorists search for my lost gear any time as he is building experiance fast.  Needless to say Paul was successful in a couple of hours and found Allans Gold wedding ring where Allan had all but given up hope, Allan was one very happy man.  Well done Paul another success story to your credit where Allan needed the extra experiance and  gold seeking gear plus possible the experiance to use it effectivly.  Regards Tony JR

Mack was relaxing happily gardening, turning over his garden bed with fresh compost when he realised his gold wedding  ring must have fallen of  while he was  working the garden.  Thank fully he found our Australia wide Jewellery Rescue network and  called for our nearest metal detectorist to assist him locate his  ring.

Well in his area of Melbourne west of the CBD we have an accopmplished detectorist among many quality detectorist in Melbourne named  Paul.  Following is  Paul’s account of events introducing a thankful  Mack up with him.

Paul’s account of events:  Got the call this week for a JR job.
A fella named Mack lost his wedding band digging a compost heap and called JR to help find it.
Over the phone Mack told me that the compost was full of tacks and nails.  He wasn’t joking, the threshold on the e-trac completely nulled out from all the iron so I switched over to two tone ferrous mode. The e-trac’s recovery speed is pretty fast in TTF and the ring was quickly found in between some ferrous signals close to the garage wall.

Mack had a huge smile and eagerly shook my hand thanking me. Gotta love that feeling  ;D and the $ came in handy to purchase a new headlamp (H14 lenser) for some night time detecting.
Thanks Tony for setting everything up, had a great time finding and returning the ring.

Top  work to Paul another Jewellery Rescue find under the belt your money was well spend on buying some  more search gear.   Regards Tony and Paul.

Magic Martin and Olivia re-engaged with ring find Maroubra.

Well this story is one of the reasons I do a metal detecting hire service for Australia. Martin called me Sunday night about 9pm when I went to bed early for a change tied after a water job. I didn’t hear him call, SMS or email and my phone was on the bedside table, I normally am a night owl and have taken calls as late as 1:20am. So in the morning I returned Martins call to learn his fiance had brushed her hands on her clothes and sent the ring flying around a path and a garden further away than they first thought in this cooler weather as hands shrink. I arranged to meet Martin and her fiance at their place that night so they would not have another night with out their heartfelt engagment ring currently absent without leave.

Martin and Olivia recovered ring.

Greeted on arrival by Martin and Olivia we where soon looking at the search area where the ring was lost. The couple had allready visually searched hard by torch light and looked into a surface drain near their newly installed outdoor oven. I also admired the new look mondo grass with scissor trimmed short back and sides not some time you see every day, all good all search efforts to re-find the AWL platinum and diamond ring. Olivia and Martin at my search request swept up the clippings over the path and put them in plastic bag just in case the ring was amongst it. We detected some thing metal and turned the dogs washable bed into a make shift sorting table to find a nail. Well my main detector quickly found the steel in the path a few surface pegs and nails. So I switched down to a cute little detector i use in tight places amongst plants. and with in a few passes detected a signal that matched some thing platinum like. I peeked into the detection area in question and stepped back while talking to Martin and Olivia about some other interesting finds I made at other places for a minute or two as I do. I am not sure what Olivia was thinking but she said aren’t you going to check that signal? Smiling inwardly at anticipation of their impending find I held out the pinpointer and said who wants the honours? Looking at each other Martin took the pin pointer and found what I had all ready seen and kept quiet about bad boy me, their wayward engagement ring. He took the ring brushed it and placed back on her finger and said “it looks like the wedding is still on” with a bit of humour of his own. Thanks guys for the invite to your home to search for what will be a new family heirloom one day. I think you might agree Olivia’s smile tells you about the thanks this couple sincerely expressed. Not so lucky for the next person I searched for that night on Maroubra beach with two detectorists, at times, working till 3 am. Result a No Find, thats detecting some times sadly I hope our detailed exhaustive search gave them some closure on their loss.

Met Kim, Craig and their lovely Daughter doing some very nice home improvements.  Kim stopped for a  break and was playing ball with her daughter when her wedding ring with a sizable solitaire diamond flung off her finger with the ball toss. The ring quickly vanished into the garden or the mowen grass seemingly with out a trace.  Kim called me after searching manually and after considering renting a detector a wise decision for the sake of saving approx $50 you get experienced operators,  search knowledge, and best equipment over a bare bones rental.  In fact I loaned a good spare detector to Kim and Craig to search ahead of me for their ring. The detector was wildly beeping at many buried metal items and nails in the timber garden frame.

Lovely Ring

I was scanning the wider grass area in the failing light donning a headlight to see.  Kim and Craig did a top job finding all sorts of metal items, they would make great detectorists. However it turns out they where tricked by nails in the near by wood  work masking the ring from their detection as they moved on. I moved in on that area and detected the immediate grass area , the potted plants on the garden edge with no ring signals for starters. Next was a slow scan along the lawn edge  along a timber edge with the dreaded numerous nails at intervals. Like Kim and Craig I also was given a distorted signals from the multiple targets but experience had me check one specific signal manually with a Pro pinpointer we use for surface targets.  With out to much delay out popped Kim’s  lovely diamond solitaire ring with some coaxing from my finger,  deep out of the thick spongy buffalo grass roots.  I never get tired of seeing rings come to light and peoples faces lighting up. This job took approx twenty minutes so tonight they wont be stressed out about a missing ring with the fairies in the bottom of their garden.  I thank Craig and Kim for their trust to do the job right for them and invitation to their home.

Metal Detector hire a really nice family visiting friends and family in Australia from the UK. had a bit of a damper put on their holidays.  While enjoying a day on the beach his wedding ring worked its way loose from his finger and into the sand to vanish from view in a millisecond.  Thank fully the couple told the lifesavers on Cronulla beach (Sutherland region) about the lost ring and the lifesavers mentioned success stories of Jewellery Rescue’s previous efforts.  Within an hour I was detecting on the beach for the families missing wedding band adjacent to where they where sitting on the sand.  Within a few more minutes I had found the wayward wedding band and handed it back to a grateful family who insisted on buying me some lunch as well as handing me a reward.  After a light chosen lunch I thanked them and donated the family given reward to the surf  life saving club in the UK families name as support for the club to save lives not rings.  I  enjoy doing work  where everyone is happy, a motivating feeling that makes my day.  Regards Tony  Jewellery Rescue metal detector hire Australia wide where possible.

Chipping Norton metal detector hire finds stunning 36 Diamond pendant

It was 3pm - I arrived to metal detector hire search a 1.2km looped running track that Bianca jogs frequently.  The target was a beautiful 36 diamond 25 mm pendant that has a matching ring of equal distinctive qualities.   As it turned out, the emotional value of this ring far outweighed any dollar value countless times over.   A few days prior to my call from Bianca, she had discovered much to her dismay, the clasp of her strong pendant chain impossibly had opened snagged on her top, while jogging that day.  Her mother’s irreplaceable pendant was missing.  This isn’t just any pendant.  It was the one her mother gave to her and formed an emotional connection between them regardless of distance apart.  I heard how Bianca’s loving family diligently searched the path numerous times to try and recover it over several days as the path was frequented by many people on walks.  Bianca’s Husband wisely put up a few reward posters as many honest people still exist and look for clues as to the real owner.  I also added my own reward posters with my own phone number as I can shield people and lady owners from nuisance calls and preserve their privacy.   After Bianca and I surveyed the route she took around the jogging track in Chipping Norton, I started metal detecting as fast as I could go without missing items.  Many people frequented the path and hope of finding such a distinctive item was diminishing with time.  Night was falling, Bianca’s son stopped by to warn me that some drug users frequent the area at night.  I thanked him for his advice but stayed detecting and making sure the first leg of the path was completely search both sides before I left.  I informed Bianca via sms of a nil result.  I would have to return fresh the next day.  The following day was glorious and I started out in good spirits to finish off the 1.2km track, (both sides that are 2.2km of detecting).  I started where I left off the night before with the highest of level of focus I could muster a kilometre of search area to go.  I found over 250 metal junk items.  I detected no fewer than two swampy foot bridges until it was the 11th hour and I was on the last 50 metre leg of the path I could see the path end in sight yet  giving up wasn’t an option until last 1mm is searched.  Another signal,  like so many before but this time sitting on its edge, nearly invisible under a small sapling gum tree, a sight to behold when Bianca’s mother’s pendant flipped  face up into my hand sparkling brilliantly in the sun.  It was like holding a piece of the sun in my hand; I was so pleased it was found.  A weight lifted as I had fathomed its emotional importance to  Bianca, of whom I later found out, had been so worried and upset that she hadn’t eaten or slept properly since its loss which effects most people this way.  When I told her it was found over the phone she needed time to let her feelings to change from that of deep loss to restoration and beyond.  I gave the pendant to her son who was at home so he could reassure his mother it was indeed found and safe once more home where it belonged.  I was invited back later that day to a very warm smiling family.(Found  pendant on the  right hand side of  photo.)

Reunited jewellery

In Hindu tradition when people save people from ordeals and bring peace of mind, Bianca whole heartedly called Jewellery Rescue and “myself , a god for the day”.  Well this was a compliment which touched me – that my efforts were appreciated so.  I even today let that positive compliment amongst others  good will power my search efforts in the most toughest detecting conditions  to support new search efforts  near or far.  But reality remains constant I can’t always overcome all adversities and recover all people’s jewellery no matter how hard we want, will it or search.  We care at Jewellery Rescue on all of our metal detector hire jobs that much we can guarantee.  My thanks to Bianca and her family her hospitality, the generous  reward has enabled me to do my brand of positive good in the  elsewhere.

Townsville Metal detector hire saves two precious rings. Townsville park.

Gordon and his newly wed wife of 3 months where enjoying a romantic picnic in Townsville park. Gordon’s wife took her wedding and  diamond engagment rings off and  sat them besided  her on the rug to put on  more sun screen lotion. Metal detector hire She didn’t want to gunk up  her rings with oil – which is  quite normal. When it was time to leave, the picnic blanket was picked up and shaken out quite vigorously sending the rings flying.  Just then it dawned on her the rings where not back on her hand.  A frantic search followed with the diamond engagment ring being found quite  quickly, to  great relief  sitting on the grass  close to where the picnic rug was first picked up.  This must have fallen off before being flicked with the grass bits. It was  first  assumed the wedding ring fell of in the same spot  as the engagment ring but  a detailed hand and knee search failed to find her wedding band anywhere nearby.  They widened the search to the estimated rug flick  zone walking and looking as closly as  possible to no avail.  Day became night by now friends and family had joined the search  with no sign of the ring. The search called off for the  night husband Gordon explored an idea and searched  google for a  local metal detector hire place and came across www.jewelleryrescue.com.au Australia Wide. Our cost effective hire comes with a skilled operator with the know how to track down wayward jewellery if and where  possible.  Many people just hire machines with no training and soon learn it isn’t as easy as they first thought.  Often there is much metal  junk under the ground making things difficult. When emotionally stressed  it is near impossible.  I contacted one of two local Townsville  guys to assist Gordon and  his family in their search for the remaining  ring.  The  way the detectorist told me what happened was they search the spot the rug  was picked up - no joy. Then the second  area of 10m x 10m where the ring was thought to be flicked off the rug, this found bottle caps and ring pulls by the handful. (We must dig them up to make sure we dont miss the gold ring which sounds similar at times.)  It was then decided to extend that search range as the end of a blanket is almost moving at a speed of a whip and could really fire of a metal item like a ring.  Well sure enough about 14 meters away pretty much straight out the ring was found 1.3 hours later  basically just nestled into the grass making it harder to see to the  naked eye.  Gordon’s wife was esctatic as her hopes where fading with the search areas being extended out getting larger.  But  now she was hugging our detectorist almost forgetting she was married so I was told with hugs and kisses. Thankfully he was rewarded an additional $80 making the whole job $200 even.  The base fee covers expenses the reward  helps us buy new  equpiment periodically.  So another win for our customers and Townsville JR team. We care.

Wollongong Dapto Illawarra 3.6K Sapphire rescue.

It was 10.05am on a Tuesday morning I received a metal detector call from a referred customer for a metal detector hire job in Wollongong, Illawarra Dapto region..

Rescued 3.6K Sapphire

Rescued 3.6K Sapphire

This particular call was from a local farm. Hearing this my heart dropped, as many farm  jobs mean  covering a whole lot of ground reducing the chance of  recovery.. As it turned out Tracy took off her 3.6 karat sapphire ring to keep it clean while  rubbing some  cream on her child’s legs and arms after playing in some stinging plants. She placed the ring on the car parked on the grassy nature strip while using the first aid kit in the car. Ring forgotten now the stinging plant drama over, the car was moved  several meters away to mow the grass.  It wasn’t until later that night the ring was noticed missing and the search began. Shane  and his wife search hard and long into the night with the nagging fear the ride on lawn mower had shattered the huge near pure sapphire stone. The 18k gold ring /mounting was replaceable if it was mangled so they said..  Come morning the visual search continued.. Shane who had positive results using a metal detecting service before took charge of the situation and phoned for our Jewellery Rescue services.  At the time I quoted $120 due to the extra distance and time involved with my trip from Sydney.  A small extra price to pay given the princely value of the item.     Arriving about 11.40am meeting at their farm gate as arranged  Shane and  Tracy showed  me the search area where the car was parked. Firing up the detector on a clear sunny morning I started a grid pattern working my way down the hill towards the  infamous stinging plants. As pure luck would have it I was barely on the second sweep of the search pattern when the detector nearly jumped out of my hands the response was so pronounced to the found ring underneath the coil.  No mistaking that signal brushing aside a  tuft of grass was a huge sapphire ring totally undamaged  by the lawn mower as the weight of the  ring sat it low on to the ground out of the lawn mower blades way. I offered a discount on the job  as it was a quick search but ended with an insisted generous reward instead.  Thank you  both Shane and Tracy for your referrals and opportunity to find your  ring.

Hire at Wamberal Beach, Wedding Band found by metal detector hire service search (Gosford)

For  hire .  All hours metal detector hire  service. Its was 7pm Saturday evening when Tom phoned from Wamberal beach near Gosford. He told me his story of how he was wresting with his dog on the beach and some where in the excitment  his golden wedding band was pulled from his finger into the sand. Looking and feeling for it in the sand until night set in making any further search very difficult.  I think  Tom sounded a little surprised over the phone I was willing to drive to Wamberal  and search that night for the ring  he took his vows with.  I was glad Tom was willing to meet me about 9pm on a Saturday night a show me the search area on the beach as the tide was going out .   I feel it is important to search ASAP on a beach as the sand is always shifting . On some beaches they have beach sweeping machines contracted that can beat us to your jewellery buried in the sand. If that happens it is most likly lost forever.  The search began on a moonless night it was very dark on the beach,  the waves where pounding, the only light from near by houses illuminating the landmarks.  This did not  sway Tom’s unerring sense of direction and he soon located and defined the search area, the scene of the dog wrestling.   First of all I searched quickly closest area  to the sea  near a 3 foot vertical sand bank drop off, robbing the sea of  a possible new treasure. This was clear of any metal targets. Slowly I worked my way up the  beach, our  shadowy progress punctuated by the barking of a local neighborhood dog. The barking dog worked in our favour as the dog owners turned on outside flood lights to see what the noise was all about lighting our search area some what. The unusual minerals  in the sand was tripping the detector as metal targets. It is times like this cheap hire detectors will have you digging endlessly finding no metal targets, this can  be highly frustrating  for any one.  But to a reliable Etrac detector it indicated it was only minerals under foot, yet I slow down and always double check as minerals can mask targets. I don’t  like taking the slightest chance in missing precious memories through haste.

Lovely Gold Rounded ring.

Lovely Gold Rounded ring.

I worked my way up the beach systematically away from the ocean, I was getting worried as I was close to top  of the primary search area  with out any thing to show to for 45 minutes  work.  I was thinking the search  would have to extend down the beach over the area Tom and his wife walked before they noticed the rings was gone. A vast new search area with an ever dececreasing  chance of success…   On the 2nd last leg of the search sweep on the outer most edge of the detector coil was a metal signal not  gold. But quickly the reading changed as I centered over the target.  Toms ring then sounded like a golden Big Ben in the head phones loud and clear. With the quick use of  the pin pointer probe I had  hand full of sand and Toms wedding band in my hand.  It was solid and uniquely rounded inside and out on the band quite unusual must be very comfortable to wear.  Well Tom came over excepted the ring and in a spontaneous moment of happiness and relief bear hugging me  lol  I return gave him a couple of thumps on the back as the wave of success was like crossing the line in a State of Origin match I would imagine.   Tom held the ring in the head lamp light  I think the photo captures his feelings at that moment best of all, do you?   The  job  done, I was invited back to meet Tom’s family for a most welcome coffee before my return journey to Sydney. There I also meet  family dog good watch dog that started this lost ring story. Toms and his charming wife’s was happy, a little surprised and I think a little relieved the ring was back on Toms finger where she be wed him it 16 years ago.  I thank the family for the write up in face book and for the generous reward for coming out quickly and success.   However the story doesn’t quite end there as  I lost a digging tool possibly on Toms beach.  I put a reward out of $50 for my gator digging tool (fancy garden trowel) I lost some where on one of three beachs I visited that night.  So I in a total roll reversal  I experienced a new loss. I thank Tom for checking his beach for me but the trowel remains at large.  So the moral of this story is we all lose stuff and really appreciate its triumphant  if not unexpected  return  when  hope can be diminished.  I just hope my finder of the garden tool makes good use of  it :)   Tony from Jewellery Rescue.
